Our closed toed shoe policy applies to children of all ages!
Protecting your feet during a fishing charter trip is essential as many of the fish have teeth, there are sharp hooks that are used during the fishing trip. Our deck is coated with a non-slip grip, but with the water, fish slime, and bait could cause a fall if you are not prepared. The last thing that you want to be worried about is whether or not your shoes will cause you to lose your rod and reel overboard from a slipping accident to getting hooked. Safety is our top priority.
Please remember the charter price does not include the gratuity for the captain and mate. At the end of a fishing trip when you get back to the dock, it’s your turn to take care of the fine crew who took care of you. Tipping for a fishing trip carries the same general rule as tipping your waiter with 25% being common practice. Keep in mind that guides spend hours preparing for a trip. Despite their experience, having the right bait, and being in the best spots, sometimes the fish just don’t bite. When it comes to tipping, you are paying for their time, effort, and attention, not for fish. As they say, sometimes the fish aren't cooperating how you want. As a fishing charter captain, there is nothing more than wanting to put the customers on fish all the time. Unfortunately, that's not always the case. Some days are epic, and some days can be a bust. That shouldn't affect the tip to the point where some say, "no fish, no tip". Sorry but it Doesn't work that way. Unfortunately, it does happen though, so just remember that the captains and crew are doing their best, so you have the best experience on the water no matter the outcome of the fish caught.
Remember – Our captains are not magicians!! We cannot help or control what bites the bait.
Customer Agrees to sign wavier: Yes
Before your charter starts, our captain and mate will brief you on safety, fishing, gear and techniques suited for your expectations and targeted fish. From there, the captain and mate will make up a plan and try their best to get the guest onto their targeted fish.
Weather Policy: We do not plan on taking you out in unsafe weather or rough seas. Normal conditions to us, are sunshine, rain, thundershowers and seas less than 4 feet. Even though the seas might be a little wavy and uncomfortable for some, it still may be very safe to fish. Therefore, we will not take you on days when we would be miserable ourselves. If it is raining the morning of your trip, you need to show up on time. If there is an issue, I will be calling, texting or getting in touch with you beforehand.
If you’re a family coming out with younger children. If the sea is too rough, we will speak with you before we leave the dock.
Customers Checking Weather in Advance: With the advance of smart phones, we are now seeing a trend where more people are booking trips around the rain forecast way too far in advance. From April to September, there is a 50% chance of rain almost every day here on the east coast of Florida. Don’t worry about that. We don’t use the same weather forecast you do. We use a sea forecast. It shows us sea conditions and wave height for about 1 week out. The bad thing is, meteorologist miss the forecast half of the time, and we are able to go. We watch the weather every day and promise not to take you in rough seas. We want you to have a good experience and promise to do the right thing for you.
While At Sea and Customer Wants to Come Back in Cancellation Policy: If for some reason we are offshore fishing and you, some or all of your family members want to head back in because you want to cut it short, that is OK with us. But you will pay for the entire agreed amount.
You are on a private charter, and you are in control and if you want to go back, consider it done.
Here is a list of fish we generally target here in South Florida:
1. Sailfish
2. Wahoo
3. Black fin tuna
4. Amberjack
5. Sharks
6. Barracuda
7. King fish
8. Occasionally and we MEAN occasionally mahi
Remember to ask your captain and mate about preserving your memories and having a replica made of your Trophy catch.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
Thank you
Jessica
