Quick Cast: Fort Lauderdale's Offshore Bonanza

Ready for a fast-paced fishing adventure off Fort Lauderdale's coast? Our 3-hour Quick Cast trip packs all the excitement of big game fishing into a compact, action-packed charter. We're talking sailfish, tuna, kingfish, and more – all within reach on this focused offshore run. Perfect for anglers of all levels looking to maximize their time on the water and increase their chances of hooking into something special.

What to Expect on the Water

Hop aboard Never Enough Sport Fishing's well-equipped vessel for a swift journey to the hotspots. We'll have lines in the water in no time, targeting the day's most active species. With all gear, bait, and licenses covered, you just need to bring your game face. South Florida's year-round fishing means there's always something biting, whether you're a seasoned pro or it's your first time wetting a line. Our experienced crew will be right there with you, offering tips and making sure you're in prime position for the catch of the day.

Top Catches This Season

We use a mix of techniques to keep the action hot. Trolling multiple lines gives us the best shot at hooking into pelagics like wahoo or tuna. When conditions are right, we'll break out the kites – a local favorite for tempting sailfish to the surface. For those looking to tangle with some serious muscle, we might drop lines near wrecks or reefs where amberjack and grouper hang out. The name of the game is variety, and we'll adapt our approach based on what's biting to make sure you're always in on the action.

Why Anglers Keep Coming Back

"I highly recommend Never Enough Sport Fishing! From start to finish Jessica and Captain Anthony were extremely responsive, informative, flexible, understanding, knowledgeable, and professional. Captain Anthony took us out for our first Father/Son Fishing charter and it could not have been any better. We had the best time and it's something my son and I will remember for years to come. Thanks for such a great experience. We will definitely be back!" - William

"I booked the 3-hour sport fishing trip with start time of 7 AM for my brother and two young nephews who were visiting me from Seattle. The day started out stormy and we weren't sure if our trip would go forward. The weather cleared about half an hour later and we set out around 7:30 AM. We are novices and were hoping for food fish like snapper, tuna, or maybe even a mahi mahi. Any catch would have delighted us. What we got instead was a total surprise, an 80-inch sailfish!!! My brother and I took turns reeling in the fish and were completely exhausted afterwards. We felt seasick but held up. It was totally worth it and we had a lot of fun. It later sank in that what we caught was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We also caught a bonito and barracuda. Captain Anthony was very knowledgeable, fun and pleasant to be with. It only took us 20 minutes to get to our fishing area and all of our catches took place within the first hour. I will definitely book with Captain Anthony again in the future." - Bryce

"10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a private charter, captain anthony is a great guy who knows his stuff. My wife and I went on the 3 hour morning charter and showed up a couple minutes early and he was there with the boat in the water waiting for us. We went out and the first thing he said was the morning fishing won't be too great because of the full moon yet he still put us on a couple fish. He then took us to a ship wreck and hooked us on a "grandpa barracuda". With our time coming to an end, captain Anthony told us that we would troll on the way in and got my wife and I on a double header of wahoo! After that we got some pictures at the dock and he gave us great recommendations of where to go for getting the fish mounted and which restaurants near by could cook our fresh catch. For the 3 hour trip and other charters next to us catching slim pickings it was a great experience and would do it again the next time I'm back in pompano beach!" - John

Species You'll Want to Hook

Greater Amberjack: These bruisers of the reef are like underwater bulldozers. Ranging from 20 to over 100 pounds, amberjack put up a fight that'll test your arms and your gear. They hang around wrecks and deep structures, so when we drop lines for these guys, be ready for a workout. Peak season is fall through spring, but you can tangle with one year-round if you know where to look.

Wahoo Fish: Speed demons of the open ocean, wahoo are prized for both their fight and their taste. These streamlined predators can hit speeds over 60 mph and make blistering runs that'll have your reel screaming. We target them by trolling at a good clip, often using high-speed lures. Late summer through fall is prime time, but don't be surprised if we hook one any time of year – they're always a welcome surprise.

Great Barracuda: With their menacing teeth and lightning-fast strikes, 'cudas are the pirates of the reef. They'll hit just about anything that moves, making them a blast for anglers of all skill levels. We often find them lurking around structure or chasing bait near the surface. While they're around all year, the bigger ones tend to show up in cooler months. Just watch those teeth when you're unhooking!

Blackfin Tuna: These compact powerhouses punch way above their weight class. Blackfins typically run 15-30 pounds but fight like they're twice that size. We'll often spot them busting bait on the surface, which is your cue to get ready for some fast action. They school up year-round, but peak season is late fall through spring. Fresh blackfin makes for some of the best sashimi you'll ever taste.

Atlantic Sailfish: The crown jewel of Fort Lauderdale sportfishing, sailfish are what dreams are made of. These acrobatic billfish are known for their spectacular aerial displays and blistering runs. We target them using kites to present live baits on the surface – when a sail comes up to investigate, it's a sight you'll never forget. Winter and early spring are prime time, but we see them year-round. Even if you don't land one, just hooking up is an experience of a lifetime.

Time to Book Your Spot

Our Quick Cast trips are designed to give you a taste of Fort Lauderdale's world-class offshore fishing scene, even if you're short on time. With experienced captains, top-notch gear, and a focus on putting you on fish fast, it's the perfect way to squeeze in some quality angling during your visit. Whether you're a seasoned pro or it's your first time offshore, we'll tailor the experience to your skill level and interests. Fish Frenzy

quotes

Awesome experience! Great boat, affordable prices, experienced captains and crew. Knowledgeable captains got us on the fish and took care of everything. Non stop action catching a variety of fish trolling with 7 lines at once. Switched over to kite fishing for a whole new experience, running 4 live lines at once. Captain and crew were very patient with a lot of knowledge to share so we could land the fish. 5/5 stars, would highly recommend to novice and experienced anglers.

Quick Catch

quotes

The boat ride to our fishing location took roughly 10-15 mins. Captain Anthony set up the rods and reels. The target fish was barracuda Within 10 mins of trolling, we hooked up on a barracuda. We had 4 people on his boat and we each caught a fish within the first hour. A rain storm rolled in and we had to cut the trip short. Captain Anthony was very reasonable with the price since we did not get to fish the full 4 hours. The next time I’m in the area I will book with him again.

Persistent Captains

quotes

My husband and I booked a 4 hour sport fishing trip with captain Anthony, and we loved our experience. From the minute we booked, the communications were fantastic. Very responsive and answered all of our questions. The boat and equipment were clean and organized. We had captain Jimmy with us on the lower deck getting things ready. He was very friendly and again, answered our many questions throughout the day. We ended up having a slow morning, catching two sharks and one Bonita. But captain Anthony did his best to give us a full experience. We fished until the very last minute of our trip. We are very happy and we highly recommend booking with Never Enough Sport Fishing Charters. Thank you!!!!!

Barracuda Dream

quotes

Austin and I are more than pleased with this trip. Captain Tony greeted us right away and made us feel like friends from the very beginning. He was the perfect combination of laid back and very cautious of our surroundings and safety. We found so many things in common on the boat and had some pretty fun conversations. Great laughs and he answered every question we had. He has tons of fun facts to share and funny comments to make to make you feel more at ease. We caught our first fish within a half hour of being out there and didn’t stop. He let us basically request what size fish we were looking to catch. We started out catching a couple tuna and then caught some awesome king fish. Austin was then ready for the “big” one. Captain Tony knew exactly what to do and where to go and Austin caught one of his dream fish! A 46 inch barracuda! So amazing. With the help of captain Tony we are now getting the fish mounted and sent to us for forever memories. We will definitely never forget this fishing trip and will continue to rave about him. Best decision this trip!

Fish Feast

quotes

We went out early Saturday morning. Anthony was there as planned. We were quickly out of the inlet and had lines wet shortly thereafter. In 30 minutes from leaving the dock we had boated our second decent King Fish. In the next hour we caught two good size Bonitas. The rest of the morning we were catching Barracudas both trolling and the on a downrigger. The open fish Contender is great. No smell of diesel, built for fishing. Anthony did pretty much all the work except reeling in the fish. He really knew how to catch game fish. I have fished that same area with my own boat and never came close to catching that amount of fish. I learned a lot, but to find out how, you are going to charter the Never Enough yourself.

Wahoo Wow

quotes

I booked this trip for my Brother and my 2 nephews visiting from MA. The initial booking was canceled due to weather and my family was very disappointed but Jessica was so quick and helpful to find other options for us. She rebooked us on another day and it turned out perfect. My family had an awsome time with Capt. Anthony and my younger nephew caught a huge Wahoo within minutes into the trip. They had an amazing time and we all thank you so much for memories that will last a lifetime. Devrim cannot wait to mount that catch on his wall.

Big Fish Bonanza

quotes

The 2 fish pics above speak for themselves. Captin Anthony knows what he is doing, and where to go. I really enjoyed my trip. I am going to suggest a few things. 1. I did pay a little extra for the live fish. The above fish was caught with one of them. GET THE LIVE BAIT. 2. TAKE DRAMAMINE AS THEY SUGGEST. I did get a little sea sick, so take it as they suggest. 3. Hydrate well the day before, and bring some Gatorade on the trip. If you want to have a great fishing trip, Captain Anthony can make it happen. ** Also Remember to TIP THE CAPTIN. Thank you Captin Anthony!!

Learn more about the species

Atlantic Sailfish

Atlantic sailfish are the showstoppers of sportfishing. With that huge dorsal fin and long bill, they're unmistakable. These acrobats average 6-8 feet long and put on an aerial show like no other fish. We find them in blue water from the surface down to about 200 feet. Winter's the hot season, but we catch them year-round. Sailfish are pure excitement - they'll tail-walk across the water, then dive deep, testing your stamina and skill. It's all catch-and-release, but the memories last a lifetime. To hook up, we often slow-troll live baits like goggle-eyes or pilchards. When a sail shows up in the spread, it's heart-pounding stuff. Pro tip: when you see that bill light up bright blue, get ready - that fish is about to crush your bait.

Atlantic Sailfish

Blackfin Tuna

Blackfin tuna are the pocket rockets of the tuna world. They're small compared to their cousins - usually 15-30 pounds - but what they lack in size, they make up for in fight. These little powerhouses cruise in schools from the surface down to about 800 feet. Fall through spring is prime time to target them off Fort Lauderdale. Blackfins are a favorite for their hard runs and delicious meat - perfect for sashimi or seared rare. To catch 'em, we often chum to bring them up, then cast live baits or small jigs into the frenzy. When they're fired up, it's non-stop action. Here's a local trick: if you see birds working, there's a good chance blackfins are pushing bait to the surface. Run over and get ready for some reel-screaming fun.

Blackfin Tuna

Great Barracuda

Great barracuda are the gangsters of the reef - long, mean, and packing a mouthful of razor teeth. These predators can stretch over 6 feet and weigh up to 100 pounds. You'll spot them lurking around reefs, wrecks, and channels, from the surface down to about 100 feet. They're here year-round, but summer brings bigger numbers inshore. Cudas are a blast to catch - they hit hard and make blistering runs. Just watch those teeth when you're landing one. They're not prized eating, but the fight more than makes up for it. To target big ones, try slow-trolling a blue runner or mullet on wire leader. Keep it near the surface and hang on. When a cuda strikes, it's like lightning - fast, violent, and gone in a flash if you're not ready.

Great Barracuda

Greater Amberjack

Greater amberjacks are powerhouses of the ocean, often reaching 6 feet long and pushing 100 pounds. These bruisers hang around reefs and wrecks in 60-240 feet of water. They're a year-round target here, but spring and fall are prime. Amberjacks put up an epic fight - they'll test your arms and your gear. When you hook one, it's all muscle and no quit. They make killer sashimi too. To land a big one, use heavy tackle and drop a live blue runner or pinfish down deep. Let it swim naturally, and hold on tight when that rod doubles over. Just watch out for shark tax - they love to snatch jacks off the line. Oh, and don't forget to bow to the 'reef donkey' when you bring it up - it's good luck for the next drop.

Greater Amberjack

Wahoo Fish

Wahoo are the speed demons of the ocean. These sleek, torpedo-shaped fish can hit 60 mph in bursts. They average 4-5 feet long but can grow over 8 feet. You'll find them in deep blue water, often near drop-offs or floating debris. Late summer through fall is prime wahoo time off Fort Lauderdale. Anglers love 'hoos for their blistering runs and acrobatic jumps. Plus, they're some of the best eating fish in the sea - firm, white meat that's killer on the grill. To hook one, we troll fast - 12-15 knots - with lures that can take the speed. Bright colors like pink and blue work well. Once hooked, be ready for smoking runs and aerial shows. Pro tip: use wire leaders, or those razor-sharp teeth will slice right through mono.
